Société Nautique de Bandol

Proposal to host the 2018 OK Dinghy European Championship.

The Société Nautique de Bandol (SNB) would be delighted to host the 2018 OK Dinghy European Championship.

The venue:

The SNB offers three racing zones: two just out of the bay, and one in the bay if we need a more protected area. All three are less then a mile far. Dominant winds are see breeze, East wind and Mistral (W-NW).

We have a large protected sandy beach water front and, if needed, can extend it to the rest of the beach (municipal property).

We also have large parking areas, for both boats, cars and minivans.

Lodging is easy, from five starts hotel to affordable rental and camping.

Bandol is located one hour away from Marseille Airport and train station. One can also fly to the Toulon/Hyeres Airport.

Bandol also has a lot to offer for non-sailing family members. It is located in a beautiful part of the Mediterranean shore; tennis, golf, scuba diving, are on the premises; Bandol is also at the center of a world famous wine production zone, etc.

In the past we have organized a good number of international regattas. To name just a few:

– District Championship Star, 2008

– International Spring Cup 470, 2006

We are used to work with international judges and teams, in collaboration with the National and International Associations.

Dates are to be further determined but the suggested period is September 14/ October 7.
